Sometimes, in order to solve a problem or problem, we resort to tips and tricks (life hacks). These are situations in which we can find ourselves and then the desire for a solution can overcome reason.
Let's take a look at the urban legends that are circulating online, but many people doubt that they actually work.
1. If someone forces you to withdraw money from an ATM
Enter your PIN from the other side, i.e. back. So if your PIN is 1254, you enter 4521. The ATM will give you money, but it will automatically recognize it as a 911 call and notify the police without the thief knowing. This option exists at all ATMs, but many people don't know about it.
2. How do you call emergency services, the police, anywhere in the world
The only emergency number you can call from a mobile phone anywhere in the world is 112. If you find yourself outside of your network's signal and it's an emergency, dial 112 and your phone will search for any existing network you're on.
You will then see the emergency numbers for your area on the screen. Interesting: you can call 112 even when your keyboard is locked!
3. If you lock your car key in your car
If you lock your car key in your car and have a spare key at home, do the following: call someone who is at home from your mobile phone to their mobile phone. Hold the mobile phone about 30 centimeters from the car door.
Have a person in your home hold your car key close to their mobile phone and press the unlock button. Your car will open. The distance doesn't matter at all, the only thing that matters is that you call the person who has the spare remote key to open the car.
4. Hidden backup in your cell phone battery
Imagine that your cell phone battery is almost dead, you need your phone, but you don't have a charger with you.
Use the backup battery option. To activate it, enter * 3 3 7 0 # and your phone will have 50% battery charge. The phone will fill this reserve during the next battery charge.
5. How to completely disable your cell phone if someone steals it
First, you need to know the serial number of your mobile phone. Whichever number it is, type * # 0 6 # and a 15-digit number will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your device. Write this number down and keep it safe.
If someone steals your phone, call your operator, dictate the serial number, and the operator will be able to block your phone, which will be completely useless even if the thief changes the SIM card. While you probably won't get your phone back, at least you'll know the thief didn't get anything out of it.
We are not responsible for the functioning of what is written, because as we pointed out in the introduction, these are urban legends - whether they are true or not, who knows.
