The best movies and series that came to Netflix this month

Photo: imdb

We've seen a lot of great titles on Netflix this month, especially new series, as well as some feel-good and interesting movies. This summer, production seems to be focusing mainly on horror and romantic comedies. But this, predominantly light content, suits us perfectly in the summer, and below we have highlighted a few films that we recommend.

Fear Street

Joy for all those who read RL Stine's teenage horror stories as children and teenagers. Each film is set in a different time period. The film trilogy begins in the town of Shadyside in 1994 (which is the time period of the first film). A group of teenagers begin to realize that the strange cases that have haunted generations of Shadyside residents are actually connected, and they and those closest to them could be the next targets. The trailer showed everything we want from a retro horror film inspired by Stine's books: scared voices, loud and dramatic music and sound effects are here to teleport us back to the 90s.

Gunpower Milkshake

Summer isn't complete without action movies on Netflix. Last year it was a movie in which Charlize Theron played the role of the old guard, and now comes Gunpowder Milkshake. The plot follows a group of killers and a few fearless women who finally want to put an end to them. The focus is on mother Sam and daughter Scarlet, who must rebuild their relationship in order to save an eight-year-old girl, and in this adventure they fight various villains. The film stars Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Angela Basset and others.

Resort To Love

Cute romantic comedies are always a good way to spend hot afternoons or summer evenings. The film stars Christina Milian as pop star Eric. By chance, at his wedding, he meets his ex-choice, who has to perform a rather awkward concert at their wedding at a luxury resort. The sensation is supposed to be excited in parallel with a series of witty intrigues and circumstances.

This Little Love of Mine

Another feel-good kiss we'll be happy to see. The film follows the extraordinary lawyer Laura, who is facing a major turning point in her career. But for the plan to succeed, she must return to the small island where she grew up and convince her longtime friend Chip to replace her millionaire father as CEO of the company he built.

A Classic Horror Story

Another interesting horror title from the south of Italy has arrived on Netflix. The plot follows several strangers who are stuck in a forest in Italy and the only way to escape is to start fighting each other to the death. The trailer looks very interesting and most of the audience agree that it bears an irresistible resemblance to Midsommar in some ways.

Chernobyl 1986

There was a moment in 2018 when we all watched the Chernobyl series on HBO GO. Now on Netflix we got a new look at the tragic event in the film version. This time the film follows the fireman Aleksej, who tries to save as many people as possible in a reactor explosion. It was directed by Danila Kozlovsky, who also plays the main role in the film.

The Last Letter from Your Lover

Shailene Woodley, Callum Turner, Joe Alwyn, Felicity Jones star in one of the summer's most anticipated films. The story of the film is set in the present and the past. Intertwine stories from different time periods in which Ellie Haworth (Jones), a young aspiring journalist finds love letters from 1965 and immerses herself in the story of forbidden love around which the letters revolve. At the same time as she tries to unravel the saga between Jennifer Stirling (Woodley), a wealthy woman, and Anthony O'Hara (Turner), Ellie finds herself having an increasingly intense romance with an archivist (Rizwan), who helps her find more information about the letters.
