We present to you the best luxury hotels that have only recently opened their doors.
From sprawling eco-resorts to design-focused boutiques, these are the top luxury hotels 2023.
Atlantis the Royal, United Arab Emirates
Ultra luxury in hotel guise. Atlantis the Royal, standing next to its famous sister - Atlantis the Palm, in the iconic Dubai Jumeirah Palms, has attractive curves, which hide as many as 795 rooms, apartments and penthouses. And not only that, there are 17 restaurants and bars as well as an almost 2 km long sandy beach and as many as 90 swimming pools. The hotel spaces are huge, with light reflecting off huge bands of marble and massive aquariums; magnificent interior boulevards lined with luxury boutiques cross individual corridors. Upstairs in the rooms, the mood is calmer, with soothing color palettes and surprisingly minimalist decor that accentuates the views of the surrounding hotels and beach.
Buahan, Bali
Waking up to this “no walls, no doors” resort is nothing short of magical. Your bed is only separated from the greenery of the surrounding jungle and rice fields by a thin light curtain. The Buahan resort consists of only 16 villas and a two-story central pavilion, from which a dreamy overflow pool surrounded by sunbeds "jumps" into the valley. Before the Banyan Tree Group opened the hotel, a five-year research project looked at how the hotel would affect the social, agricultural and cultural aspects of the surrounding area. As a result, the hotel is the best version of the Balinese way of life, suitably luxurious of course. The 16 villas offer unique views of the Balinese jungle and terraced rice fields, and The Open Kitchen sources nearly all ingredients within an hour's radius of the lobby.
Casa Chablé, Mexico
This luxury resort is one of the best hotel innovations, as it is located inside one of the most spectacular natural reserves in Mexico, it is a welcome break from the endless all-inclusive offer in Cancun. Boarding a small fishing boat that takes you past mangroves and colonies of frigate birds, guests are greeted by a lobby filled with pearl chandeliers, thatched ceilings and rattan chairs and sofas. The hotel boasts just 10 rooms decorated with ocean-view hammocks and starry showers. Don't expect a big pool or bar scene; instead, you have the warm, aquamarine sea at your disposal, and you'll be treated to the best dining and bar deals on the pier at sunset.
Mayfair House Hotel & Garden, Miami, Florida
This architectural marvel was originally designed by renowned architect Kenneth Treister and opened in 1985, but at that time it did not live up to its grandeur, instead remaining forgotten. Until the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden moved in, returning the energy of the 80s heyday to the hotel. The rooms are no less interesting than the hotel itself, featuring items such as working typewriters, a fully stocked bar cart with cocktail kits, loads of snacks and oversized clawfoot tubs. Lost Boy & Co.'s Mayfair Grill, run by Randy Alonso and Chris Hudnall, offers flavorful wood-fired grilling inspired by the open-fire flavors of the American Southwest.
