If you ever dreamed of a Vanquish getting a golf bag and a Labrador, wake up. Ian Callum has hinted on Instagram that the shooting brake is “ready-ish” – and that serious buyers should get in touch. Beauty with space: why not.

Ian Callum, the man who drew the original Aston Martin Vanquish and a half career spent correcting the British taste for curves, now with his own house CALLUM does exactly what we want from a legend: takes an icon and makes it better, more useful – and a little shamelessly seductive. His project Vanquish 25 by R-Reforged was already a tailor-made suit for the V12 GT; now he has placed a wagon glass on the table – shooting brake – and said: If you're interested, come to the salon, let's talk..

Instagram, where caravans are born – CALLUM Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake

CALLUM has publicly stated that Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake for now “purely conceptual”, and in the same breath added an invitation: "If interested to commission, let's talk..." (hello@callumdesigns.com). This translates from design diplomacy to: show your wallet, and we'll show you the coat. The announcements were repeated several times on the platform; the automotive media picked up the news and – understandably – the internet sighed.

Why shooting brake based on Vanquis

The CALLUM Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake wagon conversion is not just photoshop. Earlier insights showed that such a version needs a completely new roof and coachbuilt rear doors – that is, classic, handcrafted bodywork. This is more expensive, but also the reason why such things have soul. CALLUM has already validated this approach with the Vanquish 25; now they logically stretch the shape in the direction space and practicality – without sacrificing elegance.

Basis: Vanquish 25 by R-Reforged

Because shooting brake there are no official numbers yet, it's fair to look into the guts of the coupe Vanquish 25, which will probably serve as a technical basis. It glows with an atmospheric 5.9-liter V12 with 580 bhp (432 kW), with the option of a three-speed transmission (including a manual 6-speed), the chassis gets Bilstein shock absorbers, wider track (+60 mm) and carbon-ceramic brakes. Rated: 0-100 km/h ~4.5 s (0-62 mph) and peak ~322 km/h (200 mph)This is not “tuning”; it is remaster a classic drawn by the same man.

Yes, the world loves Astons – CALLUM Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake

Let's remember Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake: 99 copies, all from carbon, V12 with 580 bhp (432 kW) and 630 Nm, acceleration 0-100 km/h 3.5 s (0-62 mph)If Zagato broke the internet in 2019, then it's clear that there's another, equally hypnotic one for you. shooting brake There is an audience. CALLUM is playing in this very well-lit box.

Heritage: what came first Vanquish

Original V12 Vanquish started in 2001 with 460 bhp (343 kW) and approximately 306 km/h (190 mph). Vanquish S (2004) went to 520 bhp (388 kW) and officially 201 mph (324 km/h), the accelerations were in the range ~4.6-4.9 s to 60 mph (0-97 km/h). Why mention this? Because CALLUM’s reinterpretation is not a fashion accessory, but a logical evolution of the best of the Newport Pagnell era. (here)

How much does “yes, I want” cost?

Price list for shooting brake does not exist yet. But we have an orientation: Vanquish 25 is listed in some media with base £450,000 (excluding donor vehicle and taxes), elsewhere with £550.000 (with the basis included). For small batches, accounting is like a date: it depends who brings the wineExpect the wagon body to push the cost a bit higher.

What to realistically expect

Working theory (until CALLUM publishes technicalities): shooting brake will take over most of the package Vanquish 25 – so a V12 with approx. 580 bhp (432 kW), refined chassis and gearbox selection – with the addition unique last thirds (roof/portal), a more useful trunk and, in all likelihood, an even more harmful effect on the neighbor's heart. All this, in addition to the fact that the CALLUM house is already accepting “serious inquiries”.

Why this isn't "vapourware"

CALLUM has delivered projects in recent years from Vanquish 25 to one's own Skye EV and – crucially – is capable homologated solutions and real production in small batches together with partners such as R-ReforgedThis story already has a backbone; shooting brake is therefore more likely a “boutique” than a pixel. So CALLUM Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake can be expected.

Conclusion: CALLUM Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake

Aston Martin Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake by CALLUM is the automotive equivalent of a tuxedo with cargo pockets. It sounds like blasphemy until you see the rear flank line that flows into a fully drawn hatch – without that “aftermarket” feeling. Because it’s about coachbuilt an idea with a realistic, proven basis, this is a project that smells like the road, not just an Instagram dream. No numbers? Really. But architecture – V12, 580 bhp (432 kW), ~4.5 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph), ~322 km/h (200 mph) – is already developed in a coupe and easily transferable to a station wagon. Money? £450,000–£550,000 is the frame before the shooting brake adds its own; no one said perfection was cheap, but they did say it was rare. And here rarity comes with utility – a weekend boot, a dog or just for the owner’s self-confidence. If you’re tempted, CALLUM is already waiting for the call; if not, prepare to watch this in the completely wrong peer group – in the lane in front of you.
