Acclaimed creative director Marc Atlan, together with the architecture office Oller & Pejic, designed a fantastic desert mirage, a villa whose views extend deep over the horizon of Joshua Tree National Park in California.
Low structure construction enables integration with the environment and a virtual symbiosis of natural and artificial. The bottom line integration of the facility and the environment is definitely represented by the color palette of the environment, the desert, which offers different shades and tones of the atmosphere in every part of the day. In this case, the choice of the black tone of the facade plasters seems like the placement of an artificial architectural object in a supernatural way. Definitely extremely imaginative and aesthetically different.
In its core, the building highlights its own inner courtyard as a central point, which is surrounded by architecture. It is a centralized space surrounded by functional rooms, kitchen, living room and bedrooms. Exceptional dynamics of spaces and reliefs give the house exceptional dynamism. Each space subtly breathes with the environment.
House on the southeast part of the building host sleeping quarters, or three bedrooms with access to the terrace on which it is located swimming pool. The layout makes sense, because in the afternoon the house creates a slight shadow for itself, thus enabling more comfortable use swimming pool. Also, the sleeping areas open in the direction of the sunrise, which is especially charming in the desert.
Definitely one of those houses that leave a lasting impression and let us dream our own vision of a desert mirage.
