In ten years, Basra, Iraq will be home to the tallest building in the world, a 1,152-meter structure called The Bride. If the architects succeed in realizing the original plan, The Bride will be a pioneer of a new architectural style. With its "veil" of solar modules, the monstrous four-tower building will produce as much energy as it uses.
Basra, a war zone in the first Iraq war, is now tasting the wealth that the oil industry brings. In ten years it will be home to the tallest building in the world – The Bride, which will the world's first truly vertical city.
The tallest building in the world will have more than 241 floors of offices. Inside the four towers, which will connect different locations around the building, there will be offices, hotels, restaurants, parks, gardens, public markets and railway system.

According to the AMBS, an Iraqi architectural firm, the “veil” of The Bride building will be capable heating and cooling of the building and will thus provide guests with a comfortable temperature.
