There is nothing new in the West, one could comment on the latest ranking of the international consulting company Mercer, which publishes a list of cities with the best quality of life every year. For the seventh year in a row, the nearby capital celebrated. How did the "most beautiful city in the world" fare?

The city with the best quality of life in the world is again Vienna. The Austrian capital is subscribed to the top, as it has earned this title for the seventh time in a row! That the citizens of the Austrian capital live the best lives in the world is no longer news. But what about the citizens of the remaining 229 cities covered by the international agency's survey Mercer, which compared quality of life based on 39 criteria? They took into account social, cultural, sustainable and economic aspects, from education, safety, cultural offer, public transport to accessibility and quality of health care, environmental protection and gastronomy.

Vienna is followed by Switzerland in the ranking Zurich and New Zealand Auckland. He placed just under the stage Munich (Germany), followed by Canadian Vancouver (Canada) and German Düsseldorf and Frankfurt. Geneva (Switzerland) took eighth place, Copenhagen (Denmark) ninth, and Sydney (Australia) rounded out the top ten. Among the European cities, Amsterdam (11th place), Berlin (13th), Bern (14th), Hamburg (18th) and Luxembourg and Stockholm share 19th place. Barcelona ranks 39th together with London, which is two places behind Paris. And where on the scale we find it Ljubljana? The Slovenian capital ranked 76th, a place worse than last year, and is sandwiched between Dubai (the capital of the United Arab Emirates ranks 75th as the city with the best quality of life in the Middle East and Africa) and Budapest (77.).

If we place Ljubljana alongside the cities of the former Yugoslavia, Slovenians are in first place, because Zagreb occupies "only" 98th place, Belgrade 141st, Sarajevo 158th and Skopje 159th. The worst performers on the old continent were Kiev in Ukraine (176th), Tirana in Albania (179th place) and Minsk in Belarus (190th place). Across the pond is best for the townspeople San Francisco (28th place), which is sixteen places ahead of New York (44th). He found himself at the bottom of the ranking Baghdad (Iraq).
