The most anticipated smartphones of 2014

2013 saw the rise of so-called "phablets," which are hybrids between a smartphone and a tablet, saw the resurgence of Motorola with the Google-led Moto X, and Apple's fingerprint recognition on the iPhone 5s. Now that 2014 is here, we can once again focus on upcoming phones and new technologies from leading companies in the field.

We can expect all of the curved ones phones to those that recognize your eyes. We have prepared a list of the most anticipated, although for some it is still necessary to wait for official confirmation.

Apple iPhone 6

There are many rumors and different concepts surrounding the iPhone. Thus, some predict that the iPhone 6 should have a larger 12-centimeter screen and iris recognition technology to unlock the phone. It is also expected to remove the only button on the phone, a 10-megapixel camera, the gesture control technology that was already introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S4, and also a more advanced Retina+ Sharp display with full 1080p HD resolution. There are also many rumors about different sizes, including the 15-centimeter version of the iPhone 6. Some predict the presentation already at the beginning of summer, others say that it is necessary to wait for the release until autumn.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 debuted with built-in gesture controls, but its successor will also feature eye scanning. The Galaxy S5's ability to scan and recognize your iris to unlock the phone is one of the most anticipated features of the device. An advanced resolution of 2560×1440, a 64-bit Sanpdragon 805 processor, a new Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and a better camera with 16 megapixels and ISOCELL technology can also be expected.

HTC One 2

The ancestor of the expected HTC phone could boast of a sharp screen and an attractive aluminum case, and there is a good chance that we will get these features in the new HTC One 2. Rumors are about a 12.7 cm screen with a screen resolution of 1920×1080. The results of the test model should confirm the operation of the device on a quad-core 2.3 GHz processor called Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 2GB of RAM. However, no progress is expected for the camera, which will be the same as 4 megapixels. Judging by the leaked photos, we can expect the same metallic exterior as well.

Sony Xperia Z1s

The Sony Xperia Z1 is one of the few water-resistant phones on the market, and now it will be joined by its successor, the Xperia Z1s. It boasts underwater photography and recording, and is powered by the Snapdragom 800 processor (mentioned on the HTC One 2). With a 12.7-centimeter screen and a 20.7-megapixel camera, the Xperia Z1s will take beautiful high-resolution photos and thus represent a fierce competition to the Nokia Lumia 1020, which relies on its 20-megapixel camera.

The age of flexible phones is coming and LG is introducing one of the first smartphones with a curved screen. The G Flex is vertically curved to create a crescent shape and measures 15.2 centimeters diagonally. In addition to the curvature, LG also presents the phone's "self-healing" technology, which will help to make the phone's scratches and bumps invisible. Among other things, it also boasts a 13-megapixel camera and a Qulacomm Snapdragon 800 processor. In Europe, we can expect sales as early as this month.
