A small and relatively unknown gem is one of the most beautiful Italian lakes, as it is surrounded by the Alpine highlands. A small island in the middle of the lake called San Giulio is known for its cute little houses with balconies overlooking the lake and quiet streets without traffic. There is only one restaurant on the island, but you will find more culinary offers in the town of Orta, which is located on the shore of the lake.
