The summer heat has arrived in the city. Evenings can be spent socializing at summer festivals, and we can enjoy the latest and greatest films of this summer. Many long-awaited films will finally be released in July and August, as the premieres were postponed several times due to the coronavirus.

On Netflix, you can watch the romantic comedy starring comedian Iliza Shlesinger, Ryan Hansen and Margaret Cho. The plot begins when Andrea is focused on her career as a stand-up comedian, but her path is crossed by her boyfriend, Dennis, whom she meets on a plane. She finds him perfect, smart, nice, successful and maybe too good to be true.
The French Dispatch of the Liberty

The new work of one of Wes Anderson's most charismatic directors, The French Dispatch, follows a group of journalists in the magazine's American office, located in a fictional French town in the 20th century. A love letter to journalists set in an American newspaper outpost in a fictional French town in the twentieth century, bringing to life a collection of stories published in “The French Dispatch Magazine”. The excellent cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Christoph Waltz, Saoirse Ronan, among others. After many delays, the film will finally premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on July 6th!
Space Jam: New Legacy

One of the favorite films of the nineties, the full-length animated spectacle Space Jam, is a film that many generations grew up watching. Space Jam: New Legacy is an upcoming comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee. The film is a sequel to 1996's Space Jam and stars basketball player LeBron James, as well as Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green and Cedric Joe. LeBron James plays a fictional version of himself whose son Dom (Cedric Joe) wants to become a video game developer and refuses to follow in his father's footsteps. When the two get stuck in a virtual space ruled by an artificial intelligence creature, LeBron must save his son with a near-impossible task. His team of undisciplined Looney Tunes characters must win a match against the virtual champions.
Black Widow

Marvel Film Studio has announced ten new movies from the Avenger era, the first being Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson. She returns as Natasha Romanoff, who we met back in 2010 in Iron Man 2. For the next almost 10 years, Natasha, or Black Widow, helped the Avengers fight Thanos, and in the latest sequel, Avengers: Endgame, which is the final saga of the popular superheroes, sacrificed to save the world.
The Last letter from your Lover

Your Lover's Last Letter is an upcoming romantic drama film directed by Augustine Frizzell. The film stars Felicity Jones, Shailene Woodley, Callum Turner, Nabhaan Rizwan, Joe Alwyn and Ncuti Gatwa. A pair of intertwined stories set in the past and present follows an aspiring journalist determined to uncover the secret of a forbidden love affair at the center of a trove of secret love letters from 1965.
Free Guy

Free Guy is an upcoming American science fiction action comedy film directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn and a story by Lieberman. A bank broker discovers that he is actually an NPC (non-player character) in a brutal open-world video game. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery and Taika Waititi.

The long-awaited Aretha Franklin biographical musical drama is coming soon. Repect is the new film by Liesl Tommy starring Jennifer Hudson. The film follows an incredible career in music - from singing in her father's church to the title of Queen of Soul. In addition to Hudson, the film also stars Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Mary J. Blige, Forest Whitaker and others.
