Ford Kuga is a well-known cute city SUV that is firmly anchored in the hearts of Slovenian driversin and in the region, the third best-selling model of this manufacturer. That's also why the news that the new Ford Kuga is coming next year is exciting. But even more than we are excited by the announcement, we are excited by the first impressions - because the Kuga simply looks phenomenal.
She changed her style and became organically sporty with enviable lines. At the same time, it brings a bunch of new technologies and will be the most electrified Ford in its entire history. Thus, both plug-in and classic hybrids will be available, as well as a wide and anyway well-known range of Ford engines, which have impressed with their innovations in recent years and are at the same time proverbially reliable and economical. The new Kuga, which is already the third generation, is based on a new global platform that enables new dimensional proportions, reduced total vehicle weight and modern driving dynamics. With this, the Kuga has a completely new stature and is very close to the Ford Focus model in terms of dynamic design. The familiar Ford range of model equipment will be available, as well as the top-of-the-range Vignale version – which represents the very top of the range. This SUV is definitely worth the wait.
The platform of the future – for bold shape and stature
Brand new Ford Kuga is the first SUV based on the new Ford Global Architecture C2, which supports improved aerodynamics for better fuel consumption and reduces weight compared to outgoing models by up to 90 kg when comparing equivalent powertrain variants. In addition, the new architecture is designed to improve the crash performance of the body; delivers 10 percent more torsional stiffness for better driving dynamics and creates more interior space for all future Ford midsize models, while still enables expressive and dynamic design. A more creative silhouette includes a longer wheelbase, which creates the impression of a larger and at the same time more dynamic vehicle, but the latter benefits the ride and stability; longer bonnet; further sloping angle of the rear windshield; and a lower roofline. The result is a more energetic, agile and capable look than ever before.
Top equipment levels
Adapted equipment level spectrum is available in versions Plague of Vignale, ST-Line and Titanium, each with a unique character that reflects the personality of the customers. With a modern and confident design, the Kuga Titanium demonstrates the high specification and quality that will be available to customers across Europe. Highlights include a sporty front skid plate and rear diffuser, body-colored mirrors, side skirts and door handles, LED daytime running lights and standard 17-inch or optional 19-inch alloy wheels.
But the cherry on top is definitely the model Vignale version as it features fully exclusive specification and precision craftsmanship with integrated Vignale trim, including satin aluminum roof rails, bumpers and inserts, as well as unique, stylish front and rear bumpers. The exterior is also equipped with Vignale chrome grilles made of chrome material and twin tailpipes. In addition to the standard 18-inch models, there are also 19-inch and 20-inch models. Windsor leather seats with exclusive Vignale hexagonal design, heated leather steering wheel and premium velor floor coverings further enhance the interior.
Comprehensive motor offer with emphasis on hybrid technology
The comprehensive offer includes the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, Kuga EcoBlue Hybrid (mild-hybrid) and Plague Hybrid (full-hybrid) versions, alongside Ford's 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel, 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel and 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. The comprehensive picture is completed by an intelligent new automatic transmission with eight gears.
