The nominations for the 2020 Grammy Awards have been announced. They were announced at the ceremony by Dua Lipa, Imogen Heap, Lauren Daigle, Mickey Guyton, Yemi Alade, Nicole Benedetti, Pepe Aguilar, Sharon Osbourne and Academy President Harvey Mason Junior. It turned out that Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa, who have been dominating in all categories for several years, have the most irons in the fire this year.
Let's see who is competing for the prizes grammy 2020, which are expected to be awarded 31 January 2021.
Although it is Beyoncé already won more than 20 Grammy awards, this did not prevent her from receiving a record number of nominations this year and entering the race for as many as nine golden turntables. The singer was nominated for Song of the Year (Black Parade), Record of the Year (Black Prade and Savage Remix), Best R&B Performance of the Year (Black Parade), Best Rap Performance of the Year (Savage Remix) as well as Best Music Video (Brown Skin Girl, Black Is King). Also the last album Taylor Swift, called Folklore, is in the running for the 2020 Grammy Awards, as it has collected as many as six nominations – including Album of the Year and Song of the Year (Cardigan).
British pop singer Dua Lipa received nominations in the two most important categories: her album Future Nostalgia is nominated for album of the year and her song Don't Start Now for song of the year.
Among the nominees for album of the year is a singer Jane Aiko with his album Chilombo, the group Coldplay with the album Everyday Life and the band HAIM with the release of Women In Music. Also Harry Styles received three nominations, namely for Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video.

In the rap music category this year, the rapper received the most nominations Roddy Ricch, whose songs Rockstar and The Boy certainly marked the year behind us. The rapper also received three nominations Post Malone, Justin Bieber and he got as many as four nominations, not only in the pop category, but also in the country category. For the first time, only female artists were nominated for the best rock performance, namely Fiona Apple, Big Thief, Phoebe Bridgers, HAIM, Brittany Howard and Grace Potter. Women also dominated the Best Country Album category.
The announcement of the nominations for the Grammy Awards 2020 was not without scandal, among the performers who did not receive any nominations were The Weeknd and Bob Dylan. The Weeknd released his After Hours this year, and the songs from this album were an absolute hit on the world charts, so it was not clear to anyone why the artist was not nominated in any category. The singer took to his social media and told his fans that it's obvious that the Grammys are based on connections and corruption and that they don't value real musicians. The fact that even Bob Dylan, who returned to the scene after an 8-year hiatus with the album Rough and Rowdy Ways, did not receive a nomination was also surprising.
