Hiking or trekking has been a very popular recreational physical activity of all generations for many years. We usually only go on the trip for one day, but sometimes we also stay overnight. Traditional mountain huts are often overcrowded, some even slightly dilapidated. In the architecture studio Envelope Architects, they designed a completely off-the-beaten-track cottage that will make you think it came from the (distant) future. Introducing The Perch.
"The Perch" or perch, as the cabin or cabin was called, resembles, yes, a perch. Envelope Architects are famous for their futuristic projects and The Perch is not far behind in any respect. Three-story cabin will be able to host 10 hikers and will be with the help of more photovoltaic cells capable of 'taking care of itself'. It also adorns her storm water collection system. The cabin will be heated with a heat pump, they will also add their own large glass surfaces, facing south, and some black surfaces inside. Also the floor will be heated through a solar system, so you won't get cold despite the cold nights in the hills. The designers have also provided access to fresh vegetables, as mushrooms and algae, rich in protein, will be grown in the space under the dining room. There you will also find fresh salad and spices. They are also located in the cottage two bathroom for shower, wardrobe room and living room, where in bad weather conditions you can stay longer and enjoy the company of other hikers.
At first glance, you may get the impression that it is a photograph from some ZF film, but you may soon find yourself in it.
