The story of Alpine milk is the story of more than 2,000 farms with which Ljubljanske mlekarne cooperates. A farm where quality Slovenian milk has been produced for generations.
One of them is the farm Krnčan from Idrijske Krnice above Spodnja Idrija, where Janez and Agata Lapanje are the fifth generation owners. The people of Krnčan take care of 40 free-range dairy cows and milk about 800 liters of milk every day. Janez proudly says that he recognizes each of them from afar, and of course each has its own name. Animal welfare is of utmost importance: "This includes a light and airy barn, we treat them tolerantly and with as little stress as possible, which, in combination with free-range farming and quality home-grown forage, dry hay and grass silage, results in a healthy milking parlor that produces extremely high-quality milk." Janez explains.
