Is the traditional home delivery of food coming to an end?

Last year, the Slovenian online service ehrana.si recorded an increase in the number of users who prefer home delivery of food via a mobile application. Ehrana.si therefore pleased them with an updated mobile application.

More transparent, advanced, graphically more attractive and even faster mobile application it will be so iOS as well as Android simultaneously brought users an improved search for restaurants. Users can filter and sort restaurants according to rating and student voucher price, payment method and type of cuisine, among other things. One of the innovations is also "online" payments via mobile wallet Hal Mbills. As the director of the ehrana.si service says Borut Markelj, is with this ehrana.si became the first Slovenian portal that enables payment for home delivery of food directly online.

In addition, young Slovenian entrepreneurs enable their users of the mobile application to comment and rate restaurants. "This is one of our added values, because with this we are not just a service, but an online community," says Markelj, adding that they started testing the application at the beginning of last December, and included around three hundred users. "We are grateful to them for their active cooperation, as user feedback means the most to us, and at the same time we are happy that the responses were extremely positive. This gives us joy and energy for further development of the service," he adds.


Ehrana.si otherwise boasts the fastest growth in the history of its story. "We are happy that more than joined us in November and December alone five thousand new users," says Markelj with satisfaction. The service has been quite popular in the capital for a long time, and last year a greater growth of users was also recorded in other parts of Slovenia, especially in Maribor and Celje. In addition, ehrana.si remains the leading Slovenian application, as it is the best-rated Slovenian application in the Google Play online store. Despite the high rating - 4.8 - after the renovation they aim even higher, at least 4.9.

"What makes me most happy is that the good numbers allow us to hire new, young and ambitious personnel," says Markelj, adding that last year they strengthened their team with two new members - a programmer and a marketing specialist. The news on ehrana.si will please not only users, but also restaurants that offer home delivery of food on their platform. "From now on, restaurants can rent a tablet computer, through which they receive online orders," says Markelj, adding that the latter enables restaurants to work more smoothly with fewer errors. This year will also bring the integration of the ehrana.si service with the provider POS system, which will offer the service an additional competitive advantage.
