On September 30, 2016, the opera Don Pasqueale will premiere at SNG Maribor. The comic opera about love affairs and marital problems was written by Gaetano Donizetti at the beginning of the 19th century. The opera was directed by Dora Ruždjak Podolski, the orchestra will be conducted by Gianluca Martinenghi, and Giuseppe Esposito and Jaki Jurgec will perform in the lead roles. Tickets are already on sale.
September 30, 2016 the opera will be staged for the first time Don Pasquale in SNG Maribor. The premiere will follow 8 repetitions, the last one at the beginning of January. Don Pasquale is an important work by the Italian artist Gaetano Donizetti, whose oeuvre is considered to be an important legacy of Italian bel canto. It's Don Pasquale an old, single rich man, which sharp opposes marriage your own nephew Ernesto with a beautiful widow Norina. The latter does not have a suitable dowry and the newlyweds would thus be condemned to a life of poverty. But Don Pasquale wants a young bride himself. Blinded by this strong desire, he gets caught into Doctor Malatesta's trap, who proposes marriage to his "sister". Don Pasquale instantly falls in love with her. After signing the marriage contract, it turns out that his bride is in fact her nature commanding, loud and demanding. Don Pasquale is afraid that he made a big mistake with the wedding.
