"The moment my daughter was born, I knew my life had changed for the better."
Read a wonderful write-up by Susannah B. Lewis for YourTango.

My daughter was born on a warm June night almost nine years ago. A few hours after she came into this world, my husband was sleeping and I was holding my firstborn, my little girl, in my arms and staring at her beautiful face.
We were alone for the first time. She didn't cry, she didn't get angry. We just silently studied each other's face in the dim light of the hospital corridor and I knew immediately that my life had changed for the better.
Here are ten reasons why my daughter is the greatest gift I have ever received!
Her beauty takes my breath away
For me, there is no more beautiful child, neither inside nor outside. Her compassionate heart, adventurous spirit and warm blue eyes remind me every day that there is still good in this world.
She is my best friend
We laugh as the melted ice cream starts to run down our fingers. We share the day's events as she crawls under my blanket. We love each other unconditionally, we apologize when we make mistakes, we trust each other, we connect and communicate. We value the time we spend together.
She'll take care of me when I'm old
She will be the one to wipe the apple juice from my chin when my trembling hands become restless. She will take me to the doctor and push my wheelchair. She will take care of me when I can no longer take care of myself. I know I will be able to count on her when my time on earth is up. And I can't think of any other person I'd rather spend my last days with.
I am her role model
She is still a little girl, so she believes that I put the stars in the sky. She takes my word for it only because it's my word. She always defends me when the world tells me I'm not good enough, important enough or smart enough. She believes in me – and I hope she always will.
He has an infectious smile
No matter how bad my day was, my daughter's smile can make the world beautiful again. She is powerful, magical and spiritual.
We have an inseparable bond
I know her teenage years are coming. I know we won't always get along and we'll argue, but the bond between us will never be broken. She is too important, too dear to me and I love her too much to ever allow that.
She's mine and I'm proud to call her that
I often brag about my daughter and I will never apologize for it. I want the world to know that this beautiful, kind, compassionate, kind, smart and talented child is mine. It is my greatest pride.
It's the only thing I did right
I've done a million things wrong, but she's not one of them. One look at her and I know I have done something good in this life.
It is the best that has come from me and her father
Everything I love about her father, I love about her. She is both of us, without the flaws and imperfections that we have.
She's mine forever
It's mine. This girl is mine. This precious source of joy is mine.
She is my daughter, my light, my life.
It's mine.
A son is your son until he marries a woman, but your daughter is your daughter for the rest of your life.
