The year 2020 served up excellent series and these, at least at the moment, hold the title of the best. Check out the best series of 2020 below.

Who would have thought that 2020 would be so... full of challenges? And regardless of everything that happened in the world and in our country, we always had at least one bright spot - art that entertained and comforted us. And if we talk about 2020 as the year of the series, then this year is very good, and so far they are the best series of this year, which you should view as soon as possible.

Normal People (2020)

This series is an absolute hit and EVERYONE is talking about it. The series, based on Sally Rooney's novel of the same name, is a brilliant story about building relationships and doesn't skimp on real, raw emotions that we often find ourselves in.

La Casa de Papel (2017–)

This year, the fourth season of the popular series about robbers who are anything but bad people came to Netflix. The story continues to be told by one of the main characters, Tokio, who will put you on edge several times, and El Profesor continues to lead a robbery that has been planned for years and thought out to the last detail. It is one of the most unpredictable series that will definitely keep you on your toes!

Sex Education (2019–)

After the great success of the first season, you can watch the second season of this extremely popular series on Neflix, which brings even more unexpected, funny and unpleasant "oh, no" moments. Highly recommended!

The Great (2020–)

If you are in favor of historical series, then make time for the series about the Russian Empress Catherine the Great, where Elle Fanning shines masterfully in the main role. The point of the series is to show history as we were never taught in school and to present us with a different perspective on things. Instantly forget everything you knew about the 18th century. You can watch the series on HBO.

Cheer (2020–)

This is a series about passion, dedication and the desire to succeed! Although in Slovenia we do not know the concept of this kind of cheering, which is described in this documentary series, we do not even practice it, it is almost impossible to avoid connection with the main actors, for whom this cheering is the meaning of life. The ending of the series is really dramatic and emotional, which will make you eager for the sequel. You can watch the series on Netflix.

Everything's Gonna Be Okay (2020–)

If you managed to catch Please Like Me (currently on Neftlix) and loved it, then you'll be just as excited—if not more so—for Everything's Gonna Be Okay. Josh Thomas stars again, this time as entomologist Nicholas, who is tasked with looking after his two half-sisters after the death of their father. It's a family comedy with unique characters that you just have to love, despite all their flaws.

Genial Friend (L'amica geniale, 2018–)

If you love Elena Ferrante's book Genius Friend, then we probably don't need to explain to you that there is also a series of the same name available. This year, the second season and the continuation of the story about friends Lena and Lili are on the program. You can follow the series on HBO.

Little Fires Everywhere (2020–)

Based on Celeste Ng's bestselling 2017 book of the same name, the series follows the intertwined destinies of the "perfect" Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter whose lives are turned upside down. It explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, fierce motherhood, and the danger of believing that following the rules can prevent disaster. You can watch the series at Amazon Prime.

The Last Dance (2020)

The series tells the story of one of the biggest icons and one of the most successful teams in sports history - Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s. Never-before-seen footage of the 1997/1998 season, when the team won its sixth NBA championship, is available. We get to know how it all began - from Jordan's childhood, the Bulls' tough times before Jordan arrived, and the team's makeup after Jordan arrived in 1984, to the struggles that led the team to their first NBA title. It's an amazing script that serves as a fascinating backdrop to the main story, which tells the story of the 1998 championship and features extensive profiles of Jordan's teammates such as Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr and head coach Phil Jackson, while also featuring tons of fresh interviews from today. times they've made with rivals and celebrities from the world of basketball and beyond.
