The Savica waterfall originates at a prominent break in the steep wall of Komarča and is the source of Sava Bohinjka. It belongs to the points that you must visit when you are in Bohinj. Among the waterfalls in the world, Savica is considered to be a peculiarity of its own, as the water flow already divides in the hidden underground into two strands. The famous waterfall in the shape of the letter A at normal water level comes to the surface at an altitude of 836 m above sea level and is 78 m high.

Virje waterfall

Virje waterfall, which is considered to be the most photogenic Slovenian waterfall, fed by a stream Glijun, one of the few karst springs that never dries up. Thus, it creates a 20-meter-wide and 12-meter-high strand waterfall, under which a charming pool of green hues forms, trapped among lush growth and moss-covered rocks. The spring water of the Glijun stream, which comes to the surface among the many stones of the glacial material, reaches maximum 7 degrees Celsius, so the water in the pool under the waterfall is ice cold, and swimming is NOT allowed!

Peričnik waterfall

Peričnik waterfall with its 52 m one of the highest Slovenian waterfalls. A marked path leads to it from Mojstrana. It is best to get there on foot or by bike. You can climb to another one, upper waterfall, but its height is only 16 meters.

Martuljska waterfalls

Under Spicom you will find two waterfalls, pearls of the Slovenian Alpine world. It is particularly spectacular Zgornji Martuljkov waterfall, which descends in three stages via a 110 m vertical wall. The path to it is quite easy, but the path to the waterfall is only suitable for well-equipped climbers! Then the stream continues its way over the mountain Jasenje and the corner Lower Martuljkov waterfall falls over a 50 m high wall into a 400 m long and narrow limestone gorge - Martuljkovo gorge.

Kozjak waterfall

The Kozjak waterfall, which is also one of the tourist attractions on the Kobariška historical route, is led by a well-maintained walking path, supplemented in places by wooden bridges and the final terrace, from which a mystical view of the rock amphitheater with green pools and white streams of water.

Rinka waterfall

Boka waterfall

The most watery and the most powerful Slovenian waterfall with a total height of 144 m and a width of 18 m, it is one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Europe. The view of the vertical rock walls, in the middle of which the Boka waterfall splashes richly, is a feast for the eyes. The waters that accumulate in the highlands of the Kaninsko pogorje come to light on a rock ledge, over which they fall freely 106 m, immediately after that another 30 m deep. They increase with depth due to strong impact on the ground and undermining.

Big and little Šumik

Let yourself be enchanted by the most remarkable natural attractions in the area Pohorje Nature Park, where many hiking trails lead you. Along the Lobnica stream, 19 hectares of unspoiled Pohor forest is spread, where beeches, spruces and firs, as well as habitats of rare plants, have found their secret refuge. After a short descent between the cliffs near Lobnica, you will reach the waterfall Great Shumik, one of our most powerful waterfalls, and a little further to Little Šumik. The route between Veliki and Mali Šumik is considered very demanding.

Hell Gorge

Borovniški Pekel is less than an hour's drive from Ljubljana's city streets. The dark, damp and cold gorge with the roaring thunder of picturesque waterfalls does indeed evoke a hellish feeling at first, but an attentive visitor will soon realize that he has actually arrived in a magical place. Rapids and waterfalls are impossible to count in Hell. Five larger ones are marked, and as many as four are taller than 15 meters, the highest even close to 22. A secured and marked path leads past them, initially on footbridges and suitable for all hikers, and from the third waterfall onwards, steel cables, ladders, steps and wedges help you climb.

More than 22 waterfalls, starting at the Loška stene snowfield, descend towards Log pod Mangart. It is the most famous among the waterfalls The 48 m high Parabola waterfall, which lies in the lower part of the stream. Access to the Fratarica waterfalls is extremely challenging, especially in the upper part, so it is recommended guided tour.
