Should I really put the foil in the dishwasher?
Dishwashers are supposed to make our lives easier, but that's not always the case. It is often especially problematic to wash cutlery, which, despite repeated cleaning, is still dirty and lacks shine. But that doesn't mean you need a new one machine. Aluminum foil may be all you need to clean up scratches and grimy spots on utensils. If you don't believe it, check out the new trick from TikTok.

The next time you load the dishwasher, put another piece of aluminum foil in it that you crumpled into a ball. Throw it in the cutlery basket and start the cleaning cycle as usual. The aluminum foil remains trapped in the cutlery basket, so the trick is not to clean the cutlery mechanically, but chemically. The chemicals in the foil affect those in the tablets. The reaction is a kind of oxidation process where the silver is soaked in water and detergent powder, and the chemicals in the detergent interact with the chemicals in the aluminum foil.
