Today at 10 a.m., IKEA Ljubljana, the Swedish company's first store in Slovenia, opened its doors to its customers. The store is located in the BTC City shopping center in Ljubljana and will operate in accordance with strict epidemiological measures, including control of the number of customers in the store and frequent disinfection of the space. In addition, all visitors will have to register in advance at ikea.si and visit the store at the selected time.
The opening was symbolically marked by planting a tree from the side Sarah Del Fabbro, CEO of IKEA Southeast Europe, Casa Lachaerta, IKEA Slovenia market manager, Dag Hartelius, the Swedish ambassador to Slovenia, Zoran Janković, the mayor of Ljubljana, and Jožeta Mermala, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BTC.
IKEA Ljubljana is one of the most centrally located IKEA stores in the world. Spread across 31,000 square meters, it offers a range of over 9,500 well-designed, functional and quality products, manufactured in a sustainable manner at the lowest possible price. The store has 52 inspiring showrooms, which reflect their knowledge of how Slovenians live and what their main needs are when it comes to home furnishing. The store is designed to sustainable way, with solar cells and greenery on the roof, a geothermal heat pump and a rainwater collection system, contributing to lower water consumption.
Today it also came to life online shop IKEA on ikea.si, which will enable buyers from all over Slovenia to get inspiration and order home delivery of products. In addition, the Swedish retailer also opened collection point in Ikona Center Maribor, where customers will be able to pick up selected products online at a lower delivery price.
