Artificial intelligence is not waiting. While most of the world is still wondering whether ChatGPT really understands sarcasm, Microsoft has already added an AI button to its keyboard. But behind the scenes, shifts are happening that are changing the way we work, create, and even exist. So - this week in artificial intelligence #14!

This week in artificial intelligence! If you think nothing dramatic happened in the world of artificial intelligence in the last week…

...then you're probably still using Word 2010 and convinced that Runway is the Milan fashion runway. While most of the internet world was cursing Instagram's algorithm changes and wondering if ChatGPT understands black humor, Microsoft, OpenAI and Google are slowly, systematically and – most importantly – irrevocably transforming our everyday lives into a new reality.

And no, this isn't another empty promise that AI will one day replace your coworker. That coworker is already here. He has his own key on his keyboard. He has better concentration than you do on a Monday morning. And if he was your assistant last week, is now your superior.

So what really happened in the last seven days? More than in the entire year before that. Enter the week in review, where AI didn't just learn – took over the direction.

Microsoft Copilot: from digital assistant to mandatory collaborator

Satya Nadella revealed in one tweet: Copilot is getting an agent that not only searches for information, but thinks for you. New ones Researcher connects all your documents and emails into one point, with analytical precision. And Analyst, who understands Excel like your smartest data team member (source: microsoft.com).

And this is no longer an experiment – this is a system upgrade of the Windows operating system. The button on the keyboard is now Copilot. This marks the beginning of an era when every computer will have a built-in assistant that doesn't sleep, doesn't whine, and knows your data better than you do. One of the main innovations – this week in artificial intelligence!

Runway: a film studio in the cloud

Runway has launched two key features that are a game-changer for anyone involved in video production. Consistent characters and facilities are now a reality – AI characters will no longer suddenly change their faces or hair color between shots. This means you can create a short film on your laptop that looks like it came from a VFX studio (source: runwayml.com).

AI that understands character and object continuity is not just a technological improvement – is the foundation of film languageThis is the difference between a recording and a narrative.

Higsfield: A tool for visual directors without film school

Higsfield is a new player in the AI video space, with a surprising capability: it allows for realistic camera movements and captioning. The user can choose the shooting angles and depth of field, which means that the AI director is now also equipped with an aesthetic sense (source: higsfield.ai). To create a visually compelling commercial or artistic video, you no longer need a film crew - all you need is an idea and good instructions for the AI.

GPT-40 Image and Reeve Image: the battle for the throne of image perfection

In the pictorial realm, the queen was first Reeve Half Moon – with stunningly photorealistic portraits and even flawless text on images. But OpenAI has struck back with the GPT-40 image model and taken the top spot. In addition to realism, it now also masters material transfer, texture consistency and ad generation, which look like the product of an expensive fashion photography campaign (source: openai.com, huggingface.co). A big almost shock – this week in artificial intelligence!

One image. One prompt. One AI. The entire photo production is gone. For businesses, marketers, and designers, this is creative singularity.

The job market: AI won't fire you (yet). But it will bypass you.

In one viral Reddit post, a former member of the engineering team wrote that his entire team was fired by AI. The reason? The company decided that Copilot was doing enough – so good that the team was no longer needed (source: reddit.com/r/Singularity).

The CEO of Perplexity admitted in an interview: “You no longer need 10,000 people to create a billion-dollar company.” (source: perplexity.ai)

Combined with the World Economic Forum's predictions about the most sought-after professions of the future, a clear message emerges: It will not be the end of jobs, but the end of some professions as we know them today..

What about mathematics? Google is quietly leading us into the future

At the American Mathematical Olympiad, Gemini 2.5 Pro achieved 24 % performance on the most complex tasks, where other models achieved almost nothing. It's not just about the numbers - it's about the AI's ability to reason, prove, and understand abstract concepts (source: arxiv.org).

AI can be more empathetic than a doctor

A new study (source: nature.com) has shown that people prefer to communicate with AI than with doctors – as long as they don’t know it’s AI. Why? Because AI has time, patience and often better answers. Which pushes new boundaries in medicine – and psychology.

And as the icing on the cake: Altman announces musical AI

Sam Altman (OpenAI) responded with a simple “👀” to the hint that it was coming new AI for music creationIf it comes to fruition, we'll be able to create songs that sound like studio recordings with the same effort it takes to write an email today. And again, the industry will have to adapt (source: twitter.com/sama).

Conclusion: there is no more time for doubts

Artificial intelligence is no longer the future – it is infrastructure of the present. He is no longer just looking for answers – creates, plans, advises, leads. Every week brings a revolution. And those who wait for the dust to settle may find themselves left behind.

If your role is creation, analysis, communication, or vision – now is the time to admit to yourself: Your next best work will be created in collaboration with artificial intelligence. Or it won't be created at all.
