BMW has been a bit of a confused teenager in recent years, searching for its identity. The first i3 was a beautiful space egg, the i4 is excellent, and the iX is designed so boldly that some people still look at it looking for a therapist. But now comes the Neue Klasse. It's not just a new platform; it's BMW's all-in bet on the future. And at the center of this storm is the BMW i3M (the name isn't official yet, but we're calling it that because it sounds right). It won't just be an electric 3 Series. It will be a car that must prove that the letter M means more than just a noisy exhaust pipe.
Forget the huge masks that have adorned the fronts in recent years. New Class It brings cleaner lines reminiscent of the legendary models from the 70s, with a futuristic touch. The BMW i3M Neue Klasse will sit low, have wide hips like an Olympic sprinter and 21-inch wheels that will fill every millimeter of the fenders.
Interestingly, the visual previews of this model circulating online (including the ones adorning this article) are the work of the author of this entry. As a passionate fan of automotive design, I regularly post concepts of the future on my Instagram profiles. @janmacarol and @throttlycom, where together with the team @citymagazineslo We're exploring the boundaries of aesthetics and aerodynamics. We expect an aggressive aero package, where every slot will direct air to cool the batteries or increase downforce. This will be a car that will act tense in the parking lot, as if it's about to jump out of its skin at any moment - or at least out of its 800-volt socket.

Brutal technology: Four hearts and a thousand “horses”
This is where things get really crazy. Speculation? No more. BMW's The head of the M division, Frank van Meel, confirmed that they are already testing prototypes with four electric motors – one for each wheel. This is not just “square” power, but a complete revolution in control.
- Power: System output could reach an incredible 1,000 kW (1,341 hp / 1,360 PS). Yes, you read that right. That's more than four original E30 M3s combined.
- Acceleration: Expect the digital speedometer to exceed 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 2.5 seconds. These are numbers that cause retinal detachment.
- Final speed: It will probably be electronically limited somewhere around 280 km/h (174 mph) to prevent the batteries from melting like ice cream in the middle of July.

Heart of the Beast BMW i3M: New Battery Magic
BMW with the New Class is abandoning flat cells and switching to new cylindrical battery cells. These promise up to 20 % more energy density and up to 30 % more range.
| Specification | Estimated value |
| Battery (net) | 90 kWh – 100 kWh |
| Architecture | 800-volt (ultra-fast charging) |
| Charging speed (DC) | up to 400 kW (10-80 % in 12-15 min) |
| Range (WLTP) | about 550 – 600 km (340 – 370 miles) |
| Torque | Above 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) – immediate and brutal |
Why will this be the right “M”?
Jeremy Clarkson would probably say: “Speed is just a number. It's the soul that counts.” And BMW knows it. The key to the i3M's success won't just be raw power, but the Heart of Joy – a new central computer that processes data 10 times faster than previous systems. This “superbrain” will control all four motors simultaneously, enabling torque vectoring that will defy physics when cornering. No more mechanical differentials, just pure, lightning-fast electronics that allow the front axle to be completely disconnected for that authentic rear-wheel drive feel.

Interior: Minimalism that isn't boring
In the cabin, BMW is saying goodbye to buttons. BMW Panoramic Vision will project key information across the entire width of the windshield. In the sporty M version, we expect seats that will hug you tighter than Grandma at Christmas, and materials made from natural fibers (such as linen) that are sustainable but still look prestigious. There will be less plastic, and more “smart” surfaces that respond to touch and your will.

Conclusion: Prepare your wallets (and stomachs)
BMW i3M New Class it won't just be a car; it will be a statement. It's proof that BMW is not afraid of the future, but wants to dictate it. Of course, it will not be cheap. Realistic expectations for the price range are between €110,000 and €130,000 (approximately €120,000 to €140,000), which is a lot of money for an “electric car”, but a pittance for a spaceship that can put most supercars to shame at the traffic light.
Will we miss the sound of the six-cylinder? Of course we will. But once you step on the pedals for the first time in this four-engine monster and your stomach is three meters behind you, you will quickly forget about the noise. A new era is coming and if i3M her messenger, then we have nothing to fear. Except perhaps that we will run out of asphalt.

Would you dare to change your petrol engine? M3 for this electric rocket? I would, but only if they give me a lifetime supply of tires. And maybe a nausea bag.
