Is “American-made” really synonymous with apple pie and baseball? A new ranking reveals that Detroit’s knees are shaking a little while Fremont’s champagne is popping. Let’s see who’s really wearing the stars and stripes under the hood this year—and who’s just sticking them on the fender. These are the most American cars of 2025!
This is the most American cars of 2025! Cars.com For 20 years, it has been dissecting cars according to five criteria: final assembly, proportion of parts from the US/Canada, engine origin, transmission origin, and the extent of domestic labor. This year, they combed through more than 400 models and whittled them down to the 100 most American.
Tesla: star-stripe quadruple
The top is so predictable that it could have been written by ChatGPT from 2019: Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X The Model 3 reclaimed the crown with a 75 percent North American parts share and an exemplary domestic supply chain—more than enough to earn a high five in the patriotism category.
"If patriotism were measured in amps, Fremont would take down the power grid," a cynical uncle from Detroit would say.

The Fifth Element? Jeep Gladiator
It is in fifth place. Jeep Gladiator, the only true stars and stripes pickup in the top ten. In the background, the sand from Georgia is already dusting itself, where it is assembled by slightly happier assemblers than those who have to convince the Wrangler every day that it is still an SUV.
Asian trio, made "our way"
Who would have thought that a duo from South Korea and a quartet from Japan would parade under the American flag? Kia EV6 (6th place) and Sportage (17.) come from West Point, Georgia, while Honda Ridgeline, Odyssey, Passport and Pilot rolling down an assembly line in Alabama. Stat-board gurus claim that the five Hondas in the top 20 are no coincidence, but the result of boringly reliable production in Marysville and East Liberty, Ohio.
Detroit, where are you?
Motown not playing in the first league this year: Chevrolet Colorado (19.) is the only representative with a locomotive on its nose, while Ford F-150 Lightning It remains just outside the door (22nd), while the Explorer steps on its toes (23rd). The Bronco and Mustang fell deeper than the average price of gasoline in California.
The tail of the scale: irony on four wheels
When Jeep Wrangler L lands at number 100, you know the definition of “American” is becoming a slippery political issue. He is joined by hybrids Toyota RAV4, electric Cadillac Lyriq (oh, the irony!), Nissan Rogue and even Mercedes-Benz GLEIf the list were even longer, we would probably find a boat from Miami.

Customs, prices and what it means for us
With the election firestorm of tariffs and announced price increases, the decision of where a car is born may soon be more important than the color of the body. More domesticity in pieces means less worry about excess duties - and more chances that your future EV will still catch the tax incentives.
Conclusion: These are the most American cars of 2025
Tesla remains a high-voltage icon of domestic production, but the 2025 ranking clearly shows that patriotism is not exclusively the domain of American badges. The Gladiator fights for honor in the desert with the South Korean EV6, while the Honda from Alabama quietly collects the likes of hardy families. Today, buyers have a rare opportunity to actually support Ohio workers by buying a “Japanese” pickup truck. So the next time you’re in the parking lot weighing up the price tag and patriotic education, look at the fine print – and you might be surprised who’s really wearing the blue work shirt. But if you’re not sure, ask your local rate advisor. It’s definitely not from Fremont.
