The movie launched Cruise among the megastars, and not even the music from the film escaped success. Let's just remember the hits like that Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins and Take My Breath Away by the American new wave band Berlin.
What will Maverick be like more than 30 years later, is not yet known. It is also not known who will direct the film, certainly not the director of the first part, unfortunate Tony Scott, who committed suicide in 2011.
