Torqeedo manufactures vessels and propulsion systems, including fast sports boats. One of them is Deep Blue, which has quite a bit of BMW in it. It is powered by energy from the batteries found in the BMW i3 electric car.
High capacity batteries allow the speedboat to reach up to 160 horsepower, while providing the highest energy density on any vessel to date. Because the batteries of the model i3 proved to be excellent, they will soon be seen in sailboats and other vessels.

They are extremely shock-resistant, which often happens on the water due to waves, they are efficiently cooled and they are compact in size.
