Lagerfeld was irreplaceable in his ambition, creativity, desire and inexhaustible energy with which he led Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld's own fashion label and the Italian fashion house Fendi. He was known as a brutally honest man, sometimes on the verge of being offensive, so his statements often upset the public and provoked strong reactions. Without a hair on his tongue, he criticized any phenomenon that he did not like.
