A transformed creative paradise in the middle of Ljubljana

Bad winter weather and snowy slush did not prevent us from visiting the opening exhibition Transformation of the Association of Young Designers and Artists (DOUM) on Thursday. We let ourselves be charmed by the fine products and photographs and chatted in a very pleasant and creative atmosphere.

The youthful and creative spirit was already felt in front of the Central Station, when we peered into the interior through the huge glass window. For a moment, we felt like we were in a movie - the snow-covered streets of Ljubljana and the warm breath we exhaled into the hellish cold further encouraged us into the warm and relaxed interior, which we watched from the street. The members of the association kindly greeted us and escorted us to the center of the event, they were extremely satisfied with the artistic spirit and large attendance, as can be seen from their widely smiling faces. "Considering that this was our first event, where we still had a little time to organize it, and it was really well attended, we are of course delighted that everything turned out as expected", said the co-founder of the association Masha Mazi.

Maša already explained to us last week, when the members of the association were intensively preparing for the event, that their main purpose is to support young designers and artists and to promote creativity in society, which they undoubtedly succeed in, as the interest in joining the association is increasing . Some members joined them only recently, mainly because they themselves strive to connect creative ideas and exchange knowledge, spread acquaintances and socialize with their products, as was the case on Thursday.

From a tidy home to a sunny spring
Above Transformation the visitors were also impressed, among them a little older: "The impressions are excellent, we like that the young people have organized themselves as an association, because this will enable them to be more active on the market by promoting their products". Together with the guests, we watched a video on the screen with a glass of wine and an excellent music selection Blaž Bačarja, the morning transformation Klavdije Jarc and the transformation of space Brine Gluvič, and then walked past elegant lamps Kumomi Designa and furniture Oops studio, who put on display a lovely wooden rocking horse, a free-standing lamp, a table lamp and a bedside table.

Romantic wooden candlesticks were presented by Maša Mazi, and the urban wooden desk set is a piece of work Petre Božič and Long live Lutman. In such a diverse company of a wide variety of ideas and concepts, we were able to imagine quickly and without any problems how we would be cool in the spring Fat Rat sweater with an interesting animal print, with a recognizable urban cap of the Association of Young Designers and Artists (DOUM) on the head and colorful Vuccinelli's a backpack, in which Maše Mazi's sketchbook and a notebook with illustrations will be placed Eve Povše and with a cute mini cruiser made of plexiglass Anje Mencinger drove through the sunny streets. Somewhere under the green treetops, we will allow ourselves to be captured by photographers Jure Matoz, Katja Čebular, Marko Šafarič and Maši Mazi, who proved themselves with beautiful exhibited photos from different parts of the world.

The wishes of the members are important
"The next mission is the implementation of the annual program, round tables, which we called schund talk, workshops on the topic of various software tools, a photography workshop and other various events are waiting for us. It is very important what the members want, as the program is intended for them, so we will adapt it to their wishes", Maša and I also talked about the plans they are making at the association. They seem to be going in the right direction, as the designers themselves were impressed with the product display. Anja Mencinger, a 1st-year student at the Faculty of Architecture, with sparkling eyes, could not hide her surprise at how many visitors asked her about her skateboards with blue wheels. Even Katja Čebular will definitely remember the event well, because she has always wanted to show her photos from various trips, and Vuccinelli's cat, as his owner confided in us, will sew even more backpacks.
