Italian micro-brand Unimatic has transformed its Modello Uno into a serious diving tool. The new Unimatic Modello Uno ProDiver line brings the first 600-meter version in titanium (U1S-T-PD6-B) and two more affordable steel versions (U1-PD3-B and U1-PD3-OR) with 300-meter water resistance. All three models feature a ceramic bezel insert, dual-color lume, and strictly functional graphics.
Unimatic has become a staple of Instagram feeds with its sharp, “tool” 1950s minimalism, but the Unimatic Modello Uno ProDiver series is a different energy: less fashion accessory, more instrument. The trio of new products delivers exactly what the name promises – a professional version of the Modello Uno with an improved case construction, a new set of materials and more purpose-built specifications.
Unimatic Modello Uno ProDiver: Titan goes first: U1S‑T‑PD6‑B (600m)
The star of the series is the U1S‑T‑PD6‑B, the first Unimatic with a declared water resistance of 600 m. The case, made of sandblasted Grade 2 titanium, retains the familiar Uno dimensions – 41.5 mm across the bezel, 49 mm lug-to-lug – but remains surprisingly slim: 12.3 mm without crystal or 14.4 mm with a 3 mm, double-domed sapphire. Inside, a Swiss Sellita SW200‑1 (28,800 vph, 41 h power reserve) ticks away, and the dial also features a date window at 6 o’clock.
Weight? This is where titanium comes in. Fratello lists 63g for the case alone, while Hodinkee lists 76g for the watch on a NATO strap – both reflecting lightness in practice and different weighing methods. Either way, this is a “serious” diver that doesn’t sit on your wrist like a brick.
Unimatic Modello Uno ProDiver: Dual color lume, but thoughtful
ProDivers use two-tone illumination for faster orientation: the bezel and minute hand glow turquoise (Super-LumiNova BGW9/BGW09), while the hour and second hand glow orange. In practice, this means that you can find the minute hand and dive time the fastest.
Steel pair: U1‑PD3‑B and U1‑PD3‑OR (300 m)
The two steel innovations are more affordable and therefore interesting for most wrists. They retain the 41.5-mm bezel and 49-mm lug-to-lug, but thanks to the Japanese automatic Seiko NH35A (21,600 vph, 41-hour power reserve), they grow to 13.2 mm without a crystal and 14.4 mm with a sapphire crystal. Both lack dates – the symmetry of the dial remains strict.
The black U1‑PD3‑B is restrained and very “Unimatic”, while the orange U1‑PD3‑OR is a real signal underwater – “international orange” has a long diving tradition and brutal readability. Both use a 120‑click unidirectional bezel with a ceramic insert and BGW09 markers.
The factory data sheet reveals another practical detail: the steel model weighs 94 g (case) or 112 g with the included NATO strap. This is very balanced on the wrist and close to the competition in the same class.
Ergonomics: the numbers are good, and even better on the hand
The common denominator of all three is “tool” readability: large geometric indexes, thick hands, matte dials, a rotating bezel with engraved scale and strong, contrasting lume. In practice: the dual color makes night reading easier, and the 8-mm winding crown with protective shoulders remains easy to grip with wet fingers. The differences in the crystal (3.0 mm titanium, 2.5 mm steel) explain why the titanium and steel are the same height with the sapphire mounted – both measure 14.4 mm “over the top”.

Verdict: less fashion, more function
Unimatic has maintained its cool, graphically clean approach with the new ProDiver – but now with arguments that count in the water. The Titanic is a clear “halo” piece: lighter, thinner and deeper. The steel duo, on the other hand, is a realistic answer for enthusiasts who want the essence of the ProDiver at a lower price and without the big Swiss-caliber service. It’s not a revolution, but it’s a nicely measured evolution – one that finally adds engineering seriousness to minimalism.
