Radiologist Arie van't Riet never imagined that his profession would lead him to artistic paths.
Dutchman Arie van't Riet is a doctor of radiology. But one day his life took an unexpected turn. When his painter friend once asked him to do radiograph his paintings, van't Riet got the idea of X-raying other objects and nature. He started painting flowers, more specifically a bouquet of tulips. He then converted the images into digital format and colored them in Photoshop. Van't Riet modestly says: “Then my friends told me that it was art - suddenly I became an artist"
He continued is by painting plants and reptiles and insects. He calls his works bioramas, he prefers to photograph natural scenes like these butterflies on flowers, fish in water and birds on a tree.
