Electric cars, motorbikes and scooters are becoming more and more common on the roads, and electric bicycles are not far behind them. The young company Urtopia has presented an elegant electric bicycle that strives to innovate in technology and at the same time tries to be accessible to a wider mass of customers.
company name Urtopia is composed of the word "urban" and "utopia", and in their vision they imagine a cycling environment in which there is no room for cars. The Urtopia electric bike stands out with its design. The inspiration came from the so-called Möbius strip, which represents a kind of infinite form. This endless shape is supposed to be a symbol for recycling energy, reducing waste, creating a cleaner future and new possibilities for all of us.
The Urtopia electric bike is made entirely of carbon fiber, which is an extremely suitable material for the production of high-quality bicycles. The bike is durable and light at the same time, and the frame absorbs shocks, provides a more comfortable ride and weighs only a little 13 kilograms. The Urtopia has a removable battery that is charged by two and a half hours, but has enough energy for honey 48 and 128 kilometers a long way. Due to legal restrictions, it reaches a maximum speed of 32 km/h in the USA and Canada, and in Europe, only this is limited to 26 km/h.
In order to emphasize the endless shape of the bike, the entire electronic wiring is routed along the inside of the bike frame. The main focus of the bike is on its smart handlebars with integrated screen LCD. Through the screen, the rider can monitor the status of the bike, use navigation or use the GPS system to find a lost or stolen bike. The functions of the bike can be controlled vocally and thereby eliminating the need to deal with the controls and thus fully concentrate on driving. Competing electric bikes that are technologically advanced and made of carbon fiber cost around $4,500, but because Urtopia is aiming for affordability, their bikes will cost less, around 2,000 US dollars.
