Vecnos wants to make 360-degree cameras and everything related to them mainstream. Their first attempt is a compact 360-degree camera that resembles a pen or a magic wand, and with it they are targeting a younger audience.
Eternity, a new startup conceived and funded by Ricoh, has launched its first product – an ultra-compact 360-degree camera! In addition to being very compact, the pen-shaped device is also ultralight, which means that you can practically always carry it in your pocket or purse. On top of that, automatically connects to the smartphone, so the selfie stick really won't be needed anymore!
Vecnos was founded by the team that designed and launched the pioneering camera in 2013 Ricoh Theta 360. At Vecnos, however, the team will use their expertise in optical technology and artificial intelligence to develop new approaches to 360-degree and other specialized cameras, software and applications, with the goal of making advanced photography accessible and user-friendly. for the general public.
"We're working on a new generation of cameras, and our first product is designed to reinvent the selfie, so it's aimed at a younger audience," explained the director of Vecnos, Shu Ubukata. “Our goal is to combine ease of use with advanced photography capabilities and enhanced photo sharing in beautiful and elegantly designed products that people will want to use. We want to inspire a new generation!”
A camera similar to a pen (or magic wand) has its own system at the "tip", namely three lenses on the sides and one on top. They are on the grip two buttons, which enable the management of camera functions: from individual to group selfies, to 360-degree photos as well as videos. The product is expected to hit the market this year, the price is not yet known.
