Villa Kambra is a 400-year-old stone house, renovated into a unique home that meets all the requirements of modern living. Traditional construction is enlivened by modern features that connect living in the garden with the warm shelter of a Karst home.
Villa Kambra is a pleasant house with a garden and a pavilion in the village Pliskovica in the Slovenian Karst. It grew out of the living rock around 1600 and until a few years ago the old Karst homestead used it as a stable. It is surrounded by a hilly landscape unknown to many, with small villages among vineyards that offer varied gastronomic experiences and some world-famous wines.
During the renovation, which was carried out by the investor Vilma Penko in tandem with her daughter Lucija, an architect, and the architect Roko Žnidaršič, the original elements were preserved with great care traditional karst constructions and highlighted the unique features of the building: the stone on which it stands, the stone window frames, the wooden oak roof and the texture of the old stone walls. It connects old and new, interior and exterior a garden with autochthonous karst and Mediterranean types of vegetation. It is designed and bounded by a new pavilion building, in which there is an additional bedroom with a bathroom, a study and a seasonal kitchen. From it, you step onto the covered terrace, a view of the ambience created by the combination of the garden and the old house opens up. He can sleep in the villa up to five people, there are two kitchens (one inside and one outside), two bathrooms (one in the house, the other in the pavilion), a living room with a television and music system, and you can soak in wooden hot tubs, which can accommodate up to four people. Breakfast or snacks from local producers are delivered to you upon request.
