The Ljubljana Marathon, Franja among the running events in Slovenia, will blow out its 20th candle this year. Since the marathon knows nothing but growth this year, nothing but a record number of runners can be expected. They will once again flood the streets of Ljubljana on October 25, 2015. For the second time, the longest distance run will take place in a single round, and the marathon (42 km) and half marathon (21 km) will be accompanied by several other running events, and you can also take part in it at rollerblades or handbikes.

The Ljubljana Marathon is already with us since 1996 and has been diligently building on its reputation ever since. It has grown from a local event to international competition, which attracts better-sounding names year after year. In 2014, it was attended by exceptional people 22 thousand runners, who came from 40 different countries. The starting pistol will traditionally be fired on Slovenska cesta on the last Sunday in October at 10:30 a.m, and you can register for the marathon at the latest until September 30, 2015. Last year, the two victories at a distance of 42 km went to Kenya, to Ishimael Bushendichi (he 2:08:25 tied the course record) and Janet Rono.
