The legendary Volkswagen Golf GTI got a Clubsport version, which brings an additional 50 horses, acceleration under 6 seconds and a special driving mode intended only for the Nürburgring.
Volkswagen Golf GTI gets its hottest version with the model Club sport, which represents the very top of Golf's range. Engineers have improved the engine, brakes, suspension and steering to create a vehicle that is even more exciting to drive.
It's under the hood 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which creates 300 horsepower (221 kilowatts) and 400 newton meters of torque. By comparison, the standard GTI produces 244 hp (180 kW) and 370 Nm. The Clubsport comes exclusively with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. So the hot Golf Clubsport accelerates to speed 100 km/h in less than six seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Golf GTI Clubsport it has an upgraded vehicle control system Vehicle Dynamics Manager, which now includes control of the front differential in the system in addition to adaptive springs. VW it claims that all of this allows the vehicle to respond more quickly to various micro-corrections and eliminates the understeer you'd otherwise find in a traditional front-wheel-drive vehicle. The suspension of the Clubsport is at the same time for 15 millimeters lower from the regular GTI – while the progressive-speed power steering has also been tweaked for more direct cornering response.
If with the club Club sport take to Nürburgring Nordschleife, then we have good news for you! There is a special mode of driving, called Special, which is specially designed for this track. It includes softer suspension settings than Sport mode, also due to the considerable undulations of the world's most famous track.
And how will you separate it from of the regular GTI? A different front grille, additional aerodynamic elements in matte black, such as the rear spoiler, which is high-gloss black, and 19-inch rims. Inside, the Clubsport is equipped as standard with VW's upholstery Art Velours, and perforated leather is also available. There are red stitching on the seats, center armrest, floor mats and steering wheel.
Volkswagen will build the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport in Mexico, but the price is not yet known!
