The Volkswagen Tarok pick up is coming to the roads of South America. But because it is so interesting, we simply want it here too!
Volkswagen already in November presented the concept of a smaller pick-up with the name Tarok as part of the motor show in São Paulo, Brazil. The Tarok should not become a global product, but a model intended only for South America. And at to Volkswagen they are not completely sure, as they brought the latter to the New York Auto Show this time, where they are testing the North American market and their reactions. Tarok's biggest feature is that it is possible to fold down the rear seats and thus elegantly increase the rear loading area on huge 2775 mm. So compared to popular Ford Rangers objects longer than a meter can be loaded in the back. I'm supposed to use it Volkswagen's platform MQB, four-wheel drive 4motion and classic gasoline ones TSI aggregates. Also so that the price could be extremely favorable and competitive. In South America, it is said to be sold for around 20,000 dollars. Because it is an extremely interesting product that would also find buyers here. We just want this pickup!
Volkswagen's famous engine technology – but with a touch of ethanol
The Taroka – in concept form – is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder that produces 148 horsepower (110 kilowatts). It can run on pure ethanol as well as a mixture of gasoline and ethanol. The six-speed automatic transmission and the 4motion four-wheel drive system complement each other when transferring to the road. A 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 148 horsepower is also said to be available, but this only at the start of production.
Will we be new pickup also seen on European roads, it is not yet certain. We would definitely be sorry if Volkswagen kept this product to South America only.
