The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Volt has introduced its first electric motorcycle Lacama. It is an engine that customers will be able to fully customize with the help of 3D printing, bringing it closer to their personal style.
Basically it's about the Lacama motorcycle for a product that with the help of modular construction and 3D printing it allows the customer to customize their engine according to their personal preferences, while the engine architecture does not change significantly. The engine frame and front fork are therefore 3D printed, giving customers the opportunity to design their 'handmade' parts to their liking.
The idea for this type of engine was born in the minds of three partners, two of whom are owners of the world Guinness World Record for distance traveled by electric motor in 44 days, which amounted to 12,379 kilometers – from Shanghai to Milan. They wanted to transfer this knowledge in the field of green energy into a final product that will delight the masses of fans of sports on two wheels.
Buyers will be able to choose 12 bodywork components, which will be completely individually made. With these changes to these components, customers will be able to get different types of engine - from the classic cafe racer, roadster or scrambler ... with a completely personal theme and parts according to their own taste.
Lacama motorcycle bets on high-quality partners, so it uses Brembo systems for the brake system, and Öhlins for the suspension. The huge 17-inch wheels are made of carbon fiber.
Because it is a new generation engine that drives it electricity, of course, Android and iOS connectivity via a large TFT touch screen is mandatory. GPS is the standard equipment of every Lacamo, as it is the only way it can analyze your driving and ensure optimal use of energy in the batteries. It is available in the latter 15 kWh, which drive 94 horses (70 kW) powerful electric motor. This 250 kg motor drives up to 100 km/h in a pinch 4.6 seconds. Your passion is stopped by electronics at 180 km/h.
Price for Lacama it is not yet known, but it will definitely be high. But the vision is important, and this one is more than excellent. Even if electricity plays the most prominent role in it.
