Volvo has unveiled their fully autonomous concept car. The Volvo 360c will even be so autonomous that the driver will not even have the opportunity to influence driving, as he will not have a steering wheel or pedals at his disposal. The 360c also boasts a flexible interior and a mission that could replace short-haul flights.
Volvo 360c he imagines autonomy in a slightly different way. Not only for transporting passengers around the city, but for longer routes, from suburbs to city centers or from cities to other cities. According to this thinking, businessmen and individuals could cancelled years to places that are far away from us 400 and 500 kilometers. Instead of flying, you would indulge yourself in the Volvo 360c and arrive at your destination just as rested as by plane, if not more so.
Even flying has its own bad sides, because buying a ticket is only the beginning. Then there is the arrival at the airport, the security check and waiting for the flight. After landing, a possible re-check and waiting for luggage. To the whole a lengthy process it will be possible to opt out, as the Volvo 360c offers flexible interior, which means that you can imagine a bed in it and practically sleep the entire way from home to your desired destination. You will be even more rested at the finish line, because you won't have to drive because of the autonomy nothing at all got tired.
Whether all this is possible is hard to know at this point. We have no data on the Volvo's speed, and we can conclude from the level of autonomy that most cars will be at that time already autonomous and will thereby be enabled faster travel. It's just about abstract concept and for an idea of what it could be an alternative short years. This is where it shows itself an advantage flexible interior, which can be equipped as an office and have meetings already on the way, or as a bedroom to get to the destination to rest.
