At Volvo, their new Concept Recharge was described briefly and concisely. The concept represents Volvo's ambitious manifesto for fully electric mobility.
Until now, Volvo's electric ambitions have been caught in a compromise between an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. From a financial point of view, it is of course best to have a common platform, but we have to accept many compromises and unfortunately we cannot use all the potential that an electric vehicle offers. Volvo Concept Recharge represents Volvo's vision of the electric future, which will take full advantage of the possibilities of the electric drive. The concept is based on the ″mantra″ less is more and thus dispenses with bodywork parts that are not necessary for the operation of the electric motor.
The Volvo of the future will thus say goodbye to the slots on the front fascia, as it no longer needs them. There will no longer be a need for a raised floor, as we do not need additional space for the exhaust system and drive shafts. The concept represents new and modern proportions of automotive design and indicates what modern technology enables us from a design point of view. The concept thus has a completely flat bottom and a long wheelbase with short overhangs. This provides additional space for passengers in the interior, and the minimalism of the exterior is also reflected in the interior of the car, where the driver is available 15 inch screen and a small digital instrument, instead of classic gauges. Passengers feel as if they are sitting in the living room Scandinavian style, made from natural and sustainable materials. Every piece of the interior is an angle artistically work, which could also stand on its own, as part of the furniture, in the home's living room.
