Vulgaris Woodcut is a series of unique ("naughty") cabinets and drawers, which are the result of a collaboration between Nina Koželj and Manca Kemperl. The furniture and the accompanying framed graphics are entirely made by hand, from Slovenian wood.
Vulgaris Woodcut is an artistic collection of cabinets and drawers created by a visual artist Nina Koželj and a graduate engineer in woodworking and carpentry Manca Kemperl. There are four drawers available, namely lust, which thematizes the circle of life and our desires; Good night dear, which depicts a widespread dream; Excuse me please, which symbolizes modern Artemis with the motif of breasts; and About wolves on their backs, which shows our fears and our drive.
The Vulgaris furniture collection is carefully planned in spirit modern minimalism, combined with medieval craftsmanship, woodcut. The drawer and accompanying framed graphic are fully made manually, from Slovenian wood in the Vulgaris wood studio, and in each of the cabinets there is approx hundred hours of work.
Nina Koželj and Manca Kemperl presented their art collection Vulgaris for the first time in 2018 and have so far received recognition for top product of the Charm of Wood exhibition (2018) in Cankarjev dom and Top5 award at the Ambient Furniture Fair (2018) at the Economic Exhibition Center. They received the award in October this year Big SEE wood award 2019 in the interior and furniture category.
