Volkswagen will finally place a much-needed sedan in its electric fleet, which will blow the "soul" of those in the business world. It seems that the ID.7, or rather the ID.Aero, is the car that will finally indicate a very clear vision of Volkswagen's future.

The Aero is still officially labeled as a concept vehicle. However, it is now presented in an image closer to production. The name "Aero" already implies an excellent coefficient of resistance, which is only 0.23 cW and is decisive for electric cars when it comes to range. The elegant bodywork will thus help the electric sedan reach the estimated 620 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, i.e. a real range of over 500 kilometers. We assume that the car will use a basic 77 KWh battery and of course possibly some larger upcoming version of the MEB platform.

The ID Aero was presented in the bright metallic shade "Polar Light Blue", whose color pigments create a golden shimmer in the right light. In contrast, the roof is finished in high-gloss black. A particular highlight is the typically designed honeycomb structure at the front and the narrow strip of light that runs left and right of the illuminated VW logo, which extends across the front into the fenders and side sections. As with other ID models, the headlights and taillights of the electric Passat are connected by an LED strip.

The interior also lives up to the name of the new VW model. The electrical engineering integrated into the chassis, the above-average wheelbase and short overhangs ensure that passengers in the back seat feel like they are in the former flagship Volkswagen Phaeton. Thanks to the modular electric drive system (MEB), one or two motors are possible. So rear- or four-wheel drive. Up to a maximum power of 400 horses.

Instead of conventional door handles, VW relies on illuminated buttons on its new model that open the door when touched. The 22-inch two-tone wheels are designed in a turbine style and are complemented by a special rim design that also aims to reduce drag. But we also suspect that a traditional station wagon version is coming. Ah, everything in its own time.
