As announced yesterday afternoon, VW published the first official photos of the new generation Passat model, which has been produced in 22 million units since 1973. It will have its official premiere in October in Paris, and sales will begin in the fall.

From a design point of view, the nose of the vehicle will be a mixture of that of the current one CC and golf VII. From this point of view, it does not bring tectonic changes, but only a proven refreshment and a timeless image. It will be available in both sedan and wagon versions, the production of the latter will start only a little later. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions will be available - 4 motions, but of course it won't be missing either DSG automatic transmission.

Passat B8 measures 4767 mm in length, but despite its height, it is average lost 85 kg of weight, and as a result, along with some other tricks, the engineers succeeded consumption on average reduce by 20 percent.

The interior has also been refreshed, and it has also gained some roominess, especially in the knee area of the passengers in the second row of seats, and the trunk has also been slightly enlarged, which has grown by 21- (to 586 liters, and in the variant by 47 liters (to from 650 to 1,870 liters) volume.

They will be new in the field of advanced technology head-up projection, front seats with cooling and massage function, LED lights, a new infotainment and navigation system and plenty of advanced technology in the form of assistance systems. In the interior, the new gauges in front of the driver should not be overlooked, which will be entirely digital, following the Audi example, and between the two central gauges, key information for the driver will be displayed in large numbers.

The range of engines is mostly about diesel units, where the well-known 1.6- and 2.0-liter TDI units will be available, developing power from 88 to 176 kW. The latter engine will be completely new and will develop 240 HP with the help of biturbo technology. On the gasoline side, there will be numerous TSI units with power from 92 to 206 kW.
