Wanderers is one of those visions that did not grow in the screenwriter's head, but was taken as a basis real encounters and real places (Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Earth,...), Wernquist merely filled in the missing gaps. And yes, our future is bright and beautiful and no slime monsters.
