Mad Max fans now traditionally gather every year for the Wasteland Weekend festival in California's Mojave Desert, where they swap everyday life for the post-apocalyptic world of the Mad Max film franchise. They live there for four days as if a civilization were living on the brink of extinction.
If you happen to come across post-apocalyptic festival Wasteland Weekend, you'd think you'd broken into a movie set Mad Max. Otherwise, this will never happen, as it takes place in the remote California's Mojave Desert, but that doesn't change the fact that everything there is just like in your movie cult franchises, in which he excelled in the first three parts Mel Gibson, and in the fourth part, which was released last year, he played the cult road warrior Max Rockatansky Tom Hardy.
The festival continues four days and again this year Wasteland Weekend saw a crowd of people (2,500 to be exact) who exchanged their everyday for dusty adventure, inspired by Mad Max. This time it was already held seventh time in a row and is becoming more popular every year. Visitors must submit to the Mad Max theme (that is, come dressed in the style of the heroes from the movie), and the festival hosts concerts, various shows, a four-wheel chase with people attached to the roof and hood of the vehicle, fights in rings, etc.

Although the thought of the end of the world scares many people, for fans of the Wasteland festival, it is considered to be the largest post-apocalyptic event in the world, an escape from a crazy world. As one regular guest said: ”End of the world is, you can do whatever you want!”
