Music affects our mood, emotions, the way we behave, even how much we buy and how much we drink. But what does our taste in music say about our personality?

Research has shown the following:

2. Our taste in music is influenced by our parents. An interesting study involving 325 teenagers found that teenagers listened to pop if their parents also listened to pop. Interestingly, the mother's love for rock music was passed on to the girls, but not to the boys.

3. Our favorite song is associated with a strong emotional experience from youth. One of the studies showed that the favorite song of a certain day is related to the fact that we heard it somewhere intentionally or unintentionally, and favorite songs that we have liked for a long time evoke strong emotions from our childhood.
4. The one the kind of music we listened to in our 20s, will most likely remain our favorite genre throughout our lives.
5. And another interesting thing: Rockers truly live fast and die fast. The unusual study, which looked at the 1,000 best-selling rock albums of all time, found that a rocker was 1.7 times more likely to die 3 to 25 years after becoming famous, compared to the average American's death rate at that age.

Research summarized by Time also showed that classical music helps with relaxation, that with "angry" music improve our efficiency, that music helps ease the pain, that with the music we love, we exercise better and to give women prefer their phone number, if romantic music plays in the background.
