Virje waterfall: the most photogenic waterfall in Slovenia

Virje waterfall is another in a series of magical locations in Slovenia and the right choice for all those who love natural beauty, relaxation and good photos. Virje is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Slovenia.

Virje waterfall fed by the Glijun stream, one of the few karst springs that never dries up. That's how he creates 20 meters wide and 12 meters high strand waterfall, under which a charming pool of green hues is formed, trapped between lush growth and moss-covered rocks.

I'm in Slovenia! (And keep reading for an announcement for tomorrow 😜.) AT LAST! New photos. And PS I'm actually in Croatia now but I took this in Slovenia a couple of days ago! If you read my captions, and don't just look at the images, you'll know that I'm on an actual holiday right now and yet I'm still collecting heaps of images and stories to share with you guys. This spot was a local recommendation from a guy Dreamboat and I randomly met, thanks Peter! It's Virje Waterfall in Bovec and the drive from Lake Bled to here was probably the most scenic drive I've ever done in my life! 😱 I'm literally about to make a story about Slovenia but need more hours in my day, it will be up soon! Now, my announcement... tomorrow I'm giving away TWO free passes to my online photography course ahead of the cart closing in a few days. 📸 (link in bio if you haven't checked it out yet > @laurenepbath ) So make sure you catch tomorrow's post to enter! ❤️😍😘 . . . . . #slovenia #travelphotography #bovec #julianalps #virjewaterfall #onlinecourse #photographycourse #learnphotography #competition

The spring water of the Glijun stream, which comes to the surface between many stones of glacial material, reaches a maximum of 7 degrees Celsius, so the water in the pool under the waterfall is ice cold, and bathing Not allowed (despite the fact that the scenery is extremely inviting). The waterfall is an exceptional gem of nature, so let's preserve its beauty for posterity!

The Virje waterfall is thus a great idea for a few hours' walk in the Soča Valley, along one of the mysterious paths of the Kanin waters, or you can visit it by bike.

How to get to Virje waterfall? From Plužna village on the road towards the reservoir lake (hydroelectric plant), follow the signs for Virje. You can also see nearby the karst source of the Glijun stream and accumulation lake Plužna.
