What happens when tourists disappear from Venice: scenes that stunned the world

Due to the increasing number of people infected with the coronavirus, the whole of Italy is under quarantine. This can have positive consequences not only for the population, which is now avoiding infections, but also for nature!

People started taking it social distance they are extremely serious and strictly following the advice of experts to stay at home until the danger has passed. They are taking all possible measures to stop the spread of the infection and social distancing has proven to be the way to go very beneficial for the Italian ecosystem.

Venice, one of the most desirable European tourist destinations, is just one of the many cities where it is drastically improved air and water quality due to the suspension of public life. Locals have noticed that the water in the city's canals, which are usually full of gondolas with tourists, is cleaner than ever. It is possible to see in them fish, which float around. Many believe that this is nature's way of reviving its own life.

In addition, satellite imagery shows a sharp reduction in air pollution levels across Italy during quarantine. Claus Zehner, who operates the Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite at the European Space Agency, says: "Although the data may vary due to cloudiness and variable weather, we are quite confident that the reduction in emissions that we can observe coincides with the shutdown of Italy, which is the result of a reduction in traffic and industrial activities."

Fortunately, the locals quickly noticed the extraordinary changes in the environment. And with the help of the internet, the rest of the world can also witness this incredible phenomenon!

Let's hope that at the end of the coronavirus crisis, we will learn to appreciate and care for the NATURE around us!
