When mommy Susan Copich shows her dark side

"Domestic Bliss" is a project by New Yorker Susan Copich, who decided to show the bitter sides of motherhood and the sometimes cramped family life. After realizing that she hasn't been part of a single family photo in all the years, she picked up the camera and took family photos - in a darker version.

Family life is a source of happiness for both men and women, so we don't often talk about the fact that it can also be a source of many frustrations. "Domestic Bliss" it shows just that: the feelings of women who have to be mothers, workers and housewives at the same time, and the combination of all these has rather unfortunate effects on their well-being.

Photography project New Yorker Susan Copich was created when her seemingly ideal life with her husband and two daughters in Manhattan suddenly became anything but perfect. Frustrations, anger and sadness, which are not uncommon among mothers around the world, combined with the fact that Susan was not photographed with her family in a single picture, turned into the source of inspiration for "Domestic Bliss", which shows the dark side of family life. The photographer did not suppress such negative feelings, but rather explored them in detail and depicted them in photographs that directly confront us with the taboo subject of the hard aspects of family life.

The photographer says that we must go to her pictures, which are currently on display at the Umbrella Arts Gallery in New York, to approach with healthy humor, but at the same time she is proud of her work, because she invested only herself in every photo of 100%.
