Yuhu, the new weekend is here! Two new, fresh free days can be used for a walk among modern design, a lucky jump to a concert in Milan, the opening of the new season of an urban cultural center and, last but not least, carefree socializing with loved ones.
Friday
Shall we start Friday with the opening of a new season of music making, culture and urbanization, or shall we rather go on a design tour? Let's go in order. It opened on Thursday 24th Design Biennale BIO 50, which has been studying the state of contemporary design since 1964, and at the same time brings 11 thematic groups that we will be able to explore until December 7. After exploring different design worlds, let's celebrate 5th anniversary of Cinema Šiška, which the Ljubljana Center of Urban Culture will conclude with five events, and the highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the new album See by the local band Moveknowledgement. The season is also opened by the Festival Plečnik's dance hall, which will again this year serve dance enthusiasts with dances to the well-known rhythms of the English and Viennese waltz, tango, sama and rumba.
Saturday
In the still green Park Tabor and in the center of the capital, events are slowly saying goodbye to summer. On Saturday, a Garage Sale will take place under the canopy for the last time this season, where we will be able to trade, sell and buy clothes, books, toys, sports equipment, furniture and other valuables and trinkets. For the last time under the blue sky, they will occupy Gornji trg in the old center of Ljubljana with their wonderful unique products ARTishani. And after knitting, crocheting, sewing, drawing and creating will stop in the colorful ARTish living room, we can take her to Milan, where she will be the one and only one to make us happy with her hits Pharrell Williams. So if we missed him in Vienna on Thursday, this is a unique opportunity to experience him live.
Sunday
Sunday definitely belongs to family gatherings. In the Volčji Potok Arboretum, we will have fun with family and friends in the company of Čukov and Perpetuum Jazzile at BMWfest, a festival of running and fun, from 9 o'clock. Children will also enjoy the visit Spades Festival in Velenje, which in twenty-five years has grown into one of the largest children's events in our country. From 10 a.m., we will be able to take part in numerous creative workshops with the children, take a look at the Pikin cinema or watch one of the dance performances. The program will certainly be extremely varied, but it will not end until next Saturday, September 27.
The evening should also be reserved for rest and relaxation with a good movie. In the cinema Cineplexx Maribor right now, between September 18 and 24, the first Festival of good film Filmomania is taking place, where we can watch many current festival blockbusters.
