Where to this weekend? #41

Well, now we really all have our responsibilities. Students have also started their journey, so after a busy week of studying and working, it will be even more pleasant to relax and enjoy the weekend as much as possible. Do we already know what experiences await us this time?

Friday

This Friday we will devote to culture. Do not cross yourself, because you know that we always provide only cool events. At 1 p.m., we will all gather in Maribor, which will be the center until Sunday the fourth edition of the StopTrik festival, the only festival dedicated entirely to the stop motion animation technique. In addition to numerous festival events with international guests and a local audience, we will be able to participate in animation workshops, video mapping on the facade of Vetrinjski dvor, concerts, discussions and everything that belongs to this kind of festival. If we will be in Maribor until the evening, we can watch Maribor on the stage of the Slovenian National Theater in the evening premiere of the opera The Magic Flute, which is considered one of Mozart's greatest masterpieces.

At the other end of our country, in Piran, the third day begins on Friday 5. European and Mediterranean film festivals, at which children's films and workshops will also be enjoyed by the youngest, while we will be able to sit in front of the screen of films from a loud competition program, focusing on contemporary Swedish film, special screenings and a parallel program. And of course - it's not Friday without a noble dose of selected music. This time we will be able to spoil the eardrums at the opening of the second season of events I Am Erotica in Ljubljana's Cvetličarna, where "Italian Umek" or Uto Karem will play the turntables. Rank, rank!

Saturday

Are you one of the lucky ones who will take the time to visit Vienna this weekend? No? Perhaps it is worth considering, because a special exhibition dedicated to one of the greatest architects and artists of all time opened in the Austrian capital on Thursday, October 2 Antonio Gaudí. There is no reason why Vienna is not on this year's list of weekend experiences - an exhibition called Gaudí. Architecture Ahead of its Time will adorn the MuseumsQuartier until November 2 this year.

But let's forget about November now and stick to Saturday instead. At 9 a.m., the second gate opens at the Celje Equestrian Sports Center Days of photography and video with a digital camera. A second-hand equipment fair, a competition for the best photo of the workshop's whitewater kayaking competition and other photographic delights will make for a creative part of the weekend. We expect to be more active on to the charity Aviratek in Šentvid near Stična. It is an eight-kilometer run with a variety of obstacles to overcome, and by paying the entry fee, the organizers will donate part of the race to Ana's Star to buy food for socially disadvantaged and endangered families. Even the animals will be grateful, because it's Saturday Animal Protection Day. We can give them some attention with the little ones at the children's workshop in Branibor to Club Celje at 10 a.m, and in the capital, together with others, we will raise awareness about animal protection on Prešeren square.

Those who like to spend their free autumn days on a bike can take a short morning bike tour around the Karst. We can start in Sežana and head towards Štorje, turn towards Dobravlje, stop in Štanjelo, drive through Kobjeglava towards Komno, from where we return to Sežana. We will be home just in time to see the interesting and an attractive part of the electro collection – the experiments of the inventor Nikola Tesla, which will be presented to us in working exhibits. This week and Sunday we end with an Index lesson, where they will take care of the musical material Irish lads Girl Band and Norwegian Brutal blues. A weekend, as it should be.
